The article, titled “Concerns Over Legal Discrepancies as Trademark Registrations Increase Due to ‘Amazon Effect’,” discusses how Amazon.com’s brand protection system, known as “Brand Registry,” is rapidly driving up the number of trademark registrations in Japan.

The article notes that Authense IP, which leads the country in the number of trademark applications filed, reports that approximately 10% of its monthly applications are related to Amazon’s Brand Registry.
